Ariel is the iconic red-haired mermaid princess and the beloved protagonist of Disney’s The Little Mermaid, one of the most popular and enduring characters in Disney Princess history. Ariel is the youngest daughter of King Triton, ruler of the undersea kingdom of Atlantica. Unlike her older sisters, Ariel is fascinated by the surface world and collects human artifacts in her secret grotto. Her best friends include Flounder, a loyal tropical fish, and Sebastian, a Caribbean crab and royal court composer. Ariel’s yearning for freedom and love leads her to make a dangerous deal with the sea witch Ursula, exchanging her voice for human legs so she can pursue her true love, Prince Eric.
