This proxy is inspired by the iconic God-Emperor of Man from the grimdark world of Warhammer 40,000, (or 40K). Designed by the immortal 3DArtGuy.

The God-Emperor of Mankind is the central figure of the Warhammer 40K universe, an immortal, psychic superhuman who has ruled the Imperium of Man for over ten thousand years. Revered as a living god, the Emperor is the architect of human civilization’s survival in the grimdark future of the 41st millennium.

Born on ancient Terra, the Emperor is a perpetually reincarnating psyker who guided humanity in secret for millennia before uniting the planet under his rule during the Unification Wars. He then launched the Great Crusade, creating the Space Marine Legions and the twenty Primarchs; genetically engineered demigods meant to lead humanity’s armies across the galaxy.

His vision was to build a rational, secular empire free of superstition and the corrupting influence of the Chaos Gods. But this dream was shattered during the Horus Heresy, a galaxy-spanning civil war led by his most beloved son, Warmaster Horus, who fell to Chaos. In the climactic battle aboard the Vengeful Spirit, the Emperor killed Horus but was mortally wounded.

To save humanity, the Emperor was interred upon the Golden Throne of Terra, a life-support device that sustains his shattered body and amplifies his psychic power. From the Golden Throne, he maintains the Astronomican, a psychic beacon essential for faster-than-light travel, and shields humanity from the daemonic horrors of the Warp. He is worshipped as the God-Emperor by the Imperial Cult, despite his original intention to abolish religion.

Though effectively dead, the Emperor’s will endures. He is both the spiritual figurehead and the decaying power behind the Imperium of Man, commanding the loyalty of the Adeptus Astartes, the Imperial Guard, the Inquisition, and the countless institutions of the Imperium. His sacrifice is the only thing holding the galaxy-spanning human empire together against Orks, Tyranids, Necrons, Chaos Space Marines, and other existential threats.

The God-Emperor of Mankind is the tragic, mythic heart of Warhammer 40K, embodying both humanity’s hope and its doom in a universe of endless war, superstition, and corruption.
