This awe-inspiring miniature — sculpted with divine precision by 3DArtGuy — embodies the tragic fervour of Lorgar Aurelian, Primarch of the XVII Legion Astartes: the Word Bearers.

Where others forged empires with steel and fire, Lorgar sought meaning. He was not a conqueror, but a believer — a preacher in an age of demigods and warlords. To him, the galaxy was not just a battlefield, but a cathedral waiting to be consecrated. Yet in his quest to worship, he found only rejection.

The Emperor demanded reason, not reverence. When Lorgar raised the Imperium as a monument to faith, his father cast him down, ordering the censure of his beloved Legion and the burning of his holy city, Monarchia. That wound never healed — it festered, curdled into devotion of another kind. From that humiliation was born the first heretic.

Guided by dark revelation, Lorgar turned to the gods of the Warp, the entities his father denied. He did not fall by accident — he converted by choice. Under his word, the Great Crusade became the Great Betrayal, and the fires of his faith spread across the stars. Every daemon, every cult, every whispered prayer to Chaos owes its genesis to his scripture.

In the Horus Heresy, Lorgar’s Word Bearers became the architects of damnation — missionaries of corruption, whose sermons reshaped the fate of humanity itself. His sacred texts, the Book of Lorgar, remain the foundation of Chaos worship, a blasphemous bible that turned brother against brother and god against god.

To this day, the Word Bearers march beneath burning scripture and the echo of their father’s sermons, chanting the creed that shattered an empire:
“All gods demand faith… and faith demands sacrifice.”
