1996 SHARP Blue Away Kit Bobble Hat

This 1996 SHARP Blue Away Kit bobble hat is a unique "crossover" piece that celebrates the 30th anniversary of Manchester United's first European Cup win. 

While the design is inspired by the 1996/97 away kit, the text "Wembley 1968" and "ECF" pay direct tribute to the legendary night Sir Matt Busby's side defeated Benfica.

Although it was a few years "early" for the actual anniversary in 1998, Umbro and the club chose that 1996 design to bridge the gap and start the celebrations for the upcoming milestone. 

The white and blue colour palette mirrors the change strip worn by the "Class of '92" era players, who were themselves the new generation carrying the club's European legacy forward.

The inclusion of the "Sharp" sponsor logo anchors the hat in the mid-90s, an era defined by the brilliance of Eric Cantona and a young David Beckham.

This accessory serves as a bridge between two of the club's most significant periods, honouring the pioneers of 1968 while reflecting the style of the 1996 squad.
