Dead Red is a dark, muted, desaturated red — the dried-blood, faded-flag tone that reads as old and worn rather than fresh and bright. AK's high-pigment 3rd Generation acrylic lays it down matt and smooth by brush or airbrush.
Best for
- Dried blood and gore on grimdark miniatures
- Faded, weathered red fabric and markings
- The shadow tone under brighter reds
Use it as a base for weathered reds or a shade beneath vivid ones. Thin it for airbrush work; its matt finish takes washes and glazes cleanly.
