AK Interactive 3rd Gen Acrylic RLM 79 (1941) (AK11832)
RLM 79 was one of two desert base colours issued to the Luftwaffe when units first deployed to North Africa in 1941, and this is the original, slightly warmer sand yellow used before the Reich Air Ministry revised the shade later that year. Mix it with RLM 80 for the mottled upper-surface finish seen on early Afrika Korps aircraft.
Best for
- Bf 109E/F, Ju 87 and Bf 110 desert schemes from the 1941 North African campaign
- Base coat for RLM 80 olive green mottling and tropical weathering
- Brush or airbrush application straight from the dropper bottle
Get the earlier desert shade right and everything you weather or mottle over it reads as properly period-accurate.
17ml dropper bottle, water-based acrylic. Pick up the revised RLM 79 (1942) shade to compare, or browse the full AK 3rd Gen Acrylics range.
