What Is British Fava Beans (Faba)?
Fava Beans have a special nutty flavour and smooth, buttery texture. One of the earliest cultivated crops (over 8,000 years ago!), fava beans were a major part of Ancient Greek and Roman diets along with lentils, garbanzo beans, and peas.

Fava beans should be peeled before eating. The outer peel of the beans is edible, but it's better peeled, as it has a woody texture that detracts from the rich creaminess of the inner bean.
They remain very famous throughout the Mediterranean and are also a popular ingredient in Latin American, Asian, and African cuisines.
