Champions of Heaven Since 1958 Flag
This flag is a poignant tribute to the Busby Babes, the gifted young Manchester United side that was devastated by the Munich air disaster in 1958.
The slogan "CHAMPIONS OF HEAVEN" serves to immortalise the eight players who lost their lives, honouring their legacy as a team that will forever remain at its peak in the hearts of supporters.
At the centre of the design is a golden eagle, a symbol taken from the Manchester City Council coat of arms and worn as a unique one-off badge during the emotion-filled 1958 FA Cup final.
While many fans mistakenly identify the bird as a phoenix rising from the ashes, it is historically an eagle representing the city’s ancient links to Rome.
This banner is a staple of matchday culture at Old Trafford, symbolising the deep, generational bond between the club and its history.
