About Clinique & Aromatics Elixir
Clinique launched in 1968 as part of Estée Lauder Companies, conceived around dermatologist-led skincare. Aromatics Elixir followed three years later, designed by Bernard Chant — also responsible for Estée Lauder's Aramis and Cinnabar — as a "fragrance with character" rather than a conventionally pretty perfume. Its herbal-aldehydic opening, rich floral heart and oakmoss-incense base have made it a benchmark of the chypre family ever since.
