Bruce Grobbelaar joined Liverpool from Vancouver Whitecaps in 1981 and spent thirteen seasons at Anfield - part of the most successful era in the club's history. Six league titles, a European Cup and two FA Cups. His acrobatics, his shot-stopping and his willingness to do the unexpected made him one of the most talked-about goalkeepers of his era. For Zimbabwe he was the first-choice keeper across a long international career. His post-football life brought legal difficulties and controversy, but his contribution to Liverpool's golden era is undeniable.
