Kelly Kettle Base Camp 1.6 ltr (Stainless Steel) + Whistle
The Kelly Kettle Base Camp is a stainless steel storm kettle that boils 1.6 litres of water, about 6 cups, at a time. Instead of gas, it runs on whatever natural fuel is lying around: twigs, dry grass, heather, birch bark or pine cones.
It's ideal for anglers, car camping, Scouts, picnics, allotments, caravanning and emergency kits. A green whistle lets you know when the water has boiled.
How a storm kettle works
Light a small fire in the steel fire base and sit the kettle on top. Water is held in a double wall around a central chimney, so the heat passes right through the middle of the water. Feed small sticks down the chimney to keep it going. Kelly Kettle says it boils within minutes, and works well in good and harsh weather.

Safety notes
Always carry the kettle upright when it has water in it. Older kettles may have an orange rubber or cork stopper: always remove it before use and never boil the kettle with it in the spout.
Add the Kelly Kettle pot support and cook set to cook while you boil, or the hobo stove to turn the fire base into a wood stove. Prefer a complete kit? See the Kelly Kettle Ultimate Base Camp Kit. Going smaller? Try the Kelly Kettle Scout 1.2L. Browse the full Kelly Kettle range.
