What Are Organic Flaked Almonds?

Almonds grow in a shell that leaves a residue and skin on the outside of the meat. When the skin is removed, in a process called blanching, the result is a skinless, white almond, with less bitter qualities. The skinned almonds are then further sliced into flakes known for their sweetness or more specifically their especially distinct "Marzipan" flavour.

It should come as no surprise, Given its creamy taste, that Flaked Almonds are especially suitable for decorating baked goods and confectionaries making fantastic, embellished, edibles! (Almond Fingers Come to Mind!)

Flaked Almonds are just one of many varieties available however, other popular preparations are Blanched, Flaked and Whole. It certainly doesn't stop there however as you can get Almond Butters, Almond Pastes and my favourite - Almond Milk which is a delicious beverage, being a more nutritious and Dairy Free alternative to cow's milk!

Why Should I Get Organic Flaked Almonds?

Flaked almonds make a lovely garnish for platters and sweets. Because they are cut so thin they add a satisfying yet gentle crunch to your dish that REALLY goes well with cakes and sponges (Again with the Almond Fingers!).

Still though Almonds Are Almonds, regardless of preparation and flaked almonds are still rich source of fatty acids that help to reduce the levels of bad cholesterol (LDL cholesterol), and promote healthy skin and hair. Reducing cholesterol only accounts for half of the almonds nutritional arsenal as they are a fantastic source of many vitamins and minerals, such as manganese, copper and Riboflavin which support energy production and metabolic rate.

To finish, they also contain two vital brain nutrients, riboflavin and L-carnitine which are often difficult to get from other dietary sources. The consumption of almonds is a highly recommended way of increasing your intake of these brain Nutrients.

Instructions For Use: 

Almonds are high in fibre and a source of protein. They have a creamy texture, are highly versatile and taste great raw, roasted, soaked, ground, blended or baked into your favourite foods.

Storage Instructions:

Store in a cool dry place, away from direct sunlight, heat and damp. Reseal when no longer in use or move to an airtight container.
