Spelt is an ancient grain and species of wheat, Triticum spelta, that is thought to have been cultivated for many, many years.
Spelt flour is a type of whole wheat flour made from the entire grain. There are two kinds of spelt flour, white and whole meal. Stoneground means the flour has been made by crushing the grain between two large stones, until finely milled.
The delicious, sweet, and nutty flavour of this stoneground ancient grain flour works well in a wide variety of baked goods, whether it be sweet or savoury. It contains several essential nutrients, such as iron, zinc, and magnesium.
Instructions For Use:
Wholemeal spelt flour lends a nutty flavour and light sweetness to baked goods. You can use it in a variety of sweet and savoury recipes including breads, cakes, scones, muffins, cookies, and waffles.
